This summer is going to be a scorcher…and I'm not talking about global warming. As bikinis get smaller with each passing swimwear season, is it even possible to find a stylish swimsuit that actually leaves something to the imagination? With today's vast selection of sexy, chic one piece bathing suits, the answer is a resounding yes.
In our itsy bitsy teeny tiny bikini world, it can be hard not to feel awkward in swimwear that covers more than it flaunts. But one piece no longer means frumpy, and this summer's hot styles in women's one pieces are out to prove it.
Always in Style: One Piece Bathing Suits
Retro is back with a vengeance this year, and what's old is definitely new again on the swimwear front. One piece bathing suits with halter ties, plunging necklines and curve hugging shorts style bottoms are making their way into designer shops everywhere. (Think Marilyn Monroe in that classic white one piece, frolicking in the California sand.) For a modern twist on a classic design, look for a retro suit in bold colors and patterns.
Women's one piece bathing suits are also a great way to accentuate the positive on the beach. (And yes, eliminate the negative) Details like deep V fronts and built in underwire make for exceptional cleavage, while high cut bottoms make your legs look a mile long. If you're worried about thicker thighs or a less than perfect bum, go for one of the new built in sarong or mini swim skirt versions.
And for the truly daring, I present to you the monokini. Not for the self conscious, this is a one piece bathing suit with the soul of a bikini. Large cut outs at the hips, stomach and back set the monokini apart from any other one piece swimsuit.
Bikinis are great- but for a truly unique look, a one piece can offer character that its itty bitty counterparts can not.
