Jolene's Mission: The beautiful island of Bali faces devastating plastic pollution that threatens their eco-system and marine life. New initiatives are galvanizing locals to find alternate ways of recycling plastic. The Balinese are leaders in the global effort to reduce plastic waste (Bali is one of the few places in the world that has banned single use plastic!) We support their efforts and designed the Jolene to turn a heartbreaking problem into a beautiful solution.

About the designer
BEMBIEN is a line of accessories handmade by artisans around the world.
Enamoured by a woman on the street with the perfect woven basket bag; she exuded an effortlessness that transfixed BEMBEIN founder Yi-Mei Truxes. Truxes was inspired to create a line of bags that evoked a sense of nostalgia and perennial style. She found a small village of artisan weavers in Bali and thus BEMBIEN was born.
A bag with a heart. At the forefront of every BEMBIEN's work is their support of these precious weaving communities. It is their goal to help bring the weaver's craft into a wider market on the other side of the globe. 10% of all BEMBIEN proceeds go back to the local community in partnership with the nonprofit Nest.
