Since its launch in 2000, Vitamin A has been a mainstay in the woman's swimwear industry. Inspired by 70's beach glamour, every bikini gives off an effortless, natural sexiness.

Designer and founder, Amahlia Stevens, is an inspiration to the fashion community. She was the first to elevate swimwear with neutral color palattes and to take the environment into consideration when designing her sustainable bikinis. All of her suits are made sustainably and locally. She even created their signature EcoLux Fabric made from recycled nylon. Vitamin A also donates a percentage of sales towards environmental organizations that protect and preserve clean water.
Amahlia understands a woman's body and fit has always been the most important element in her designs. So it's no surprise that her bikinis have been sported by super babes Jessica Alba, Gwyneth Paltrow, Halle Berry, Heidi Klum and many many more.
Trust us when we say no bikini collection is complete without a Vitamin A Bikini. We love it for its super luxe fabric that lasts, its sustainability that is so important for our planet, and its on trend silhouettes. You know you're going to feel and look amazing!
Before the launch of Vitamin A, Amahlia worked on a design project with Yvon Chouinard, the founder of Patagonia, an environmental activist, and a pioneer of the Eco movement. Yvon revolutionized the industry by innovating technical fabrics from recycled plastic bottles for Patagonia. This work spurred Amahlia's desire to design for herself and to start something similar for swimwear.
Her idea was difficult to accomplish though as all the fabric suppliers she contacted told her that there was "no market" for swimwear made with recycled fibers - so she decided to create it herself!
After working with top mills in Italy, Canada, and California for over 3 years, Amahlia finally perfected the process of EcoLux, the first premium swim fabric that is both sustainable and fits like a dream. Not only is it kinder on our planet, EcoLux is superior in quality boasting a longer life cycle, fade resistance, and shape retention.
Vitamin A also employs several other amazing practices to reduce their environmental footprint on the earth. They use waterless digital printing technology to reduce water use and incorporate sustainable materials like Linen, organic cotton, recycled cotton, Tencel, and polyester fiber made from recycled plastic into their designs.
By producing locally in the US, they dramatically decrease their emissions for transporting raw materials. They also take the much needed step of getting to know the people who manufacture their goods to ensure the highest standard of ethics and environmental responsibility!
We started carrying Vitamin A over 5 years ago in 2013. Sophie Taub, Largo Drive's buyer and creative director, reminesces on her first memories of Vitamin A back when she was a buyer at Fred Segal.
"They were one of the most luxury swimwear brands on the market and were so well made with amazing fits and Italian fabrics. We used to sell out of their "Superstar Ring Bottom" as soon as we'd get it in, and their metallics were the perfect shade to make you look naked (in a good way!) but shimmery" says Sophie.
Today we teamed up with Vitamin A to giveaway one of their most iconic bikinis the Neutra Bralette and Neutra Bikini Bottom in Bronze Metallic. See our Instagram for details!
The Neutra Bralette is a super comfortable pull-over style with double elastic underbands for the chicest silhouette. While perfect for the beach, it doubles as a bralette so you can wear it peaking out from underneath a low-cut tank or a backless tee. Its soft stretch jersey makes it comfortable for all day wear.
And the Neutra Bikini Bottom will be your new best friend with a cheeky cut and double straps on the sides that lay smooth on the hips. Get the glow look with this perfectly neutral bronze metallic color way. And the best part, it's all made in the USA! Love that!
Winner will be chosen Friday, January 26, 2018 at 8 am PST. See Instagram for more details! Good luck!
